Customs enforcement teams seized a total of 659 kilograms of drugs during operations conducted over the past week at the Gürbulak, Kapıkule, Kapıköy, and İpsala border crossings as well as İstanbul Havalimanı (Istanbul Airport).
The Ministry of Trade said significant quantities of narcotics were confiscated across six separate raids. The operations were concentrated at Turkey's major customs crossing points.
The Customs Enforcement Directorate says it is maintaining intensive inspection activities to prevent illegal drugs from entering the country, with such operations at key border gates and airports carried out on a regular basis.
