Kremlin says Alyoshki ceasefire could set precedent; trilateral Ukraine talks resume without halt to fighting
Peskov credits Melania Trump's direct involvement in the humanitarian operation and says territorial issues may enter any peace settlement discussion.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday that the humanitarian operation agreements reached at Alyoshki in the Kherson Region could serve as a precedent for similar missions in other areas, singling out the direct involvement of US First Lady Melania Trump and American negotiators as a factor Moscow "highly appreciates."
TASS reported that Peskov's briefing covered three main subjects: the Alyoshki agreements, the resumption of trilateral talks on Ukraine, and the outcome of Serbia's parliamentary elections.
On the peace process, Peskov said the decision to resume trilateral talks "does not imply any restrictions on combat operations," and that Russian forces were continuing "massive and sustained strikes against Ukraine's military-industrial complex, as well as military and military-related targets."
Peskov said that territorial questions could, in one way or another, "become a subject of discussion during efforts to reach a peace settlement," while adding that Moscow would not discuss details publicly, as doing so "would undermine a potential future peace process."
Putin is meanwhile preparing for the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) summit and a Russia-Africa summit, both scheduled this week, with a series of bilateral meetings planned on the sidelines. The Russian president is also set to meet Gazprombank Board Chairman Andrey Akimov on Monday.
Separately, Moscow welcomed Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's victory in Brazil's presidential election, with Peskov describing him as doing "a great deal" to develop bilateral relations and cooperation within BRICS and other international organisations.
