The Uzbekistan (Surkhandarya)–China international investment forum, held in Surkhandarya Region on August 15–16, presented investors with 95 promising projects worth a combined $10 billion. Following the forum, the parties reached preliminary agreements on 63 projects totaling over $6.25 billion.
The forum involved more than 350 representatives from over 120 Chinese companies and organizations. Participants included representatives from China Centre for International Cultural Relations, JDB Group, China Railway Construction, Xinlong Construction Engineering Group, Jiangsu World Agricultural, and Anhui Wende Holding Group.
An Afghan delegation also participated in the forum, led by Minister of Industry and Trade Nuruddin Azizi, comprising more than 100 representatives from 46 Afghan companies.
Surkhandarya Region's investment portfolio spans several key sectors. Agriculture holds the largest share with 25 projects, followed by mining and geology.
