Russia enacts new state standard for palladium ingots
Rosstandart approved requirements for ingots weighing 5 to 500 grams with purity ranging from Pd 999.0 to Pd 999.9 — the standard paves the way for exchange trading in palladium.

Russia's state standard for measured palladium ingots entered into force on November 1, TASS reported.
According to the document, the standard establishes requirements for the dimensions and weight of minted palladium ingots — ranging from 5 to 500 grams — as well as their chemical composition: grades from Pd 999.0 to Pd 999.9, meaning a mass fraction of refined palladium from 99.9% to 99.99%.
In addition, the standard regulates requirements for surface quality, marking, packaging, and the certificate accompanying each ingot.
Rosstandart previously told TASS that palladium remained the sole investment precious metal lacking its own national standard: gold, platinum, and silver had been standardized earlier. According to the regulator's assessment, the adoption of a standard for palladium ingots creates a foundation for exchange trading, since admission to organized trading requires a product with standardized characteristics.
