Japarov Publicly Criticized Education Minister Kendirbaeva at Meeting with Residents
The president demanded digitizing data on schools and textbooks — citing as an example 10,000 books sitting in a warehouse in Naryn.
Kyrgyzstan's President Sadyr Japarov publicly criticized Education Minister Dogdorkul Kendirbaeva during a meeting with residents of Aksiy District in Jalal-Abad Oblast.
"In terms of education planning and strategy there are no problems, but managerial quality is zero. Digitization is zero," the head of state said, addressing the official who was present at the event.
As a concrete example, Japarov pointed to the situation with textbooks in Naryn: of 15,000 books, only 5,000 were distributed, while 10,000 remained in the warehouse. The president instructed establishing digital accounting — with data on the number of schools, teachers, and textbook delivery across districts.
"How many teachers, how many schools, how many textbooks reached the districts — digitize all of it. You'll open a computer and see," he instructed Kendirbaeva.
The minister promised to prepare a presentation on all problems and present it to the president. News agency 24.kg notes that criticism directed at Kendirbaeva is not new in recent days: earlier at a meeting with residents of Bazar-Korgon District, Japarov stated that he wanted to issue her a reprimand.
