The team has arrived in Baku for a tournament featuring 190 national teams from FIFA member countries in an 8v8 format.
The Kyrgyzstan U-15 youth national team has arrived in Baku, Azerbaijan, to take part in the FIFA youth world championship in a festival tournament format. This marks the first time Kyrgyz youth football has appeared at a tournament of such a high level under the auspices of the world's leading football organization. The team's participation was announced by the Kyrgyzstan Football Union.
The tournament brings together 190 national teams from FIFA member countries. Players born in 2011–2012 are competing in the event. Matches are played in an 8v8 format on reduced-size pitches, in keeping with the concept of a festival tournament oriented toward the development of youth football. All participating teams have been divided into 32 group stages.
Kyrgyzstan's squad at the tournament is led by head coach Vladimir Salo. For the country, this is a historic occasion: previously, Kyrgyzstan's youth teams had never competed at world championships held under the auspices of FIFA.
