The Grand National Assembly of Turkey, in a session of its plenary body, approved the first five articles of a draft law containing a package of tax regulations related to public debt and treasury rights.

The new law allows for restructuring of public debt owed by taxpayers by dividing payments into installments spanning up to 72 months, a move aimed at easing the financial burden on those with obligations to the state.

In addition, the legislation grants a 20-year tax exemption on certain revenue generated from sources outside Turkey, widely viewed as an incentive measure to attract capital and encourage investors to repatriate their assets from abroad.

These legislative reforms come as part of the Turkish government's efforts to modernize its tax system, address imbalances in public debt management, and pursue broader financial stability measures that Ankara is pursuing at the present time.
