Turkey Seeks Domestic Production of Doppler Ultrasound Devices
Health minister announces ambitious plan to manufacture medical imaging devices and boost technological independence in the health sector

Turkish Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu announced that Turkey is advancing steadily toward becoming one of the world's leading countries in health technology, noting that the country is now capable of producing Doppler ultrasound devices entirely through domestic manufacturing.
The minister added that a dedicated factory for this purpose will be established on Turkish territory — a step considered a qualitative leap toward achieving self-sufficiency in the medical device sector and reducing dependence on foreign imports.
This move comes within the context of Ankara's ongoing efforts to develop its defense, medical, and technology industries, as Turkish officials place great emphasis on localizing strategic industries and narrowing the technological gap with advanced nations. Observers believe that Turkey's development of domestic capacity to manufacture advanced diagnostic devices will contribute to improving the quality of healthcare and reducing its costs over the long term.
