Turkey's minister of environment, urban planning, and climate change announced an agreement to establish a joint working group between Turkey and China, a step that solidifies bilateral cooperation between Ankara and Beijing on environmental and climate matters.

This working group represents a new institutional mechanism aimed at coordinating efforts between the two countries in the fields of environment, sustainable development, and climate change mitigation. Turkey and China share growing interests in these issues amid escalating global climate challenges.

The announcement comes as part of Ankara's efforts to expand its network of international climate partnerships and build on the diplomatic momentum currently characterizing Turkish-Chinese relations. The working group is expected to develop a roadmap for joint cooperation and exchange expertise and technologies in sectors that are priorities for both countries.
