Turkey and Kazakhstan signed 13 cooperation agreements during the official visit by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the Kazakhstani capital Astana, a move that reflects the depth of the strategic partnership between the two countries.

The signing of the agreements came following direct talks between Erdogan and his Kazakhstani counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, spanning vital and diverse sectors, foremost among them energy, defense, infrastructure, education, media, and investment.

This diversity in the sectors covered by the agreements serves as an indicator of both countries' desire to expand the scope of their relations beyond the traditional commercial framework toward a more comprehensive and integrated partnership. Turkey and Kazakhstan are linked by deeply rooted historical and cultural ties, as both belong to the shared Turkic sphere, which gives these agreements dimensions that transcend the economic aspect to encompass political and cultural cooperation alike.
