Sergen Yalçın, manager of Turkish club Beşiktaş, announced his resignation following the team's 2-1 defeat to Trabzonspor in matchday 33 of the Süper Lig.

The resignation came after Beşiktaş fans protested against the team's performances and Yalçın's handling of the squad. The manager announced his decision to leave the Istanbul club immediately after the final whistle.

The move comes amid a difficult season for Beşiktaş, which is seeking to improve its standing before the campaign concludes. Yalçın had been in charge for an extended spell, but a run of poor results had eroded fan confidence in his leadership.
