Istanbul Police Arrest 2 Drug Traffickers in Major Security Operation
756 kilograms of raw materials seized — enough to produce over 5 million units of dangerous synthetic drugs

Turkish police in Istanbul carried out a major security operation targeting a network involved in smuggling and manufacturing synthetic drugs, resulting in the arrest of two individuals suspected of direct involvement in the network.
Authorities announced that security forces seized 756 kilograms of raw materials intended for the manufacture of narcotic substances during the operation — a quantity experts estimate was sufficient to produce approximately 5.1 million units of dangerous psychoactive synthetic drugs.
The operation is part of escalating efforts by Turkish authorities to combat the growing phenomenon of synthetic drug manufacturing and trafficking, which has become an increasingly serious threat to public health in major cities.
The two suspects have been transferred to detention centers for continued questioning, while investigations are ongoing to uncover the remaining links in the network.
