Shortage of Critical Cases in University Hospitals Threatens Quality of Medical Education in Turkey

Experts noted that resident physicians and trainees in university hospitals are now facing a notable shortage of emergency cases during their training period — something considered a fundamental pillar in building their clinical competence.

Specialists warned that continuing this approach will weaken the quality of medical training in the long term and adversely affect the preparation of specialized medical cadres, amid growing reliance on major city hospitals to receive the most complex and serious cases.
