73-year-old Central Anatolia Textile Factory Closed on October 12
The denim producer in Kayseri had been manufacturing since 1953; employee compensation will be paid by November 7.

Orta Anadolu Ticaret ve Sanayi İşletmesi T.A.Ş., established in Kayseri in 1953, permanently closed its production facilities as of October 12. The company halted production on September 11, 2026; the facility closure was finalized today.
Management announced that employees' work contracts ended on the same date, and severance and notice compensation along with other statutory entitlements will be paid by no later than November 7, 2026. The company emphasized that the decision was not a temporary production halt, but rather a permanent termination of operations in Kayseri.
Since 1986, the company had supplied denim fabric to international clothing brands, establishing itself in the global textile chain. The contraction in global denim demand and rising production costs were decisive factors in the closure decision.
Kayseri is one of Turkey's historical textile centers; for the city, this represents the largest-scale factory closure in recent years. Union representatives will monitor in coming weeks whether the compensation timeline is upheld.
