Melih Göğebakan, posing as 'Trump media adviser' in US, collected money from Turks seeking E-2 visas

Melih Göğebakan, who allegedly targeted Turks seeking investor visas (E-2) in the United States, collected money from applicants by presenting himself as a 'Trump Media employee' and 'Trump's media adviser.' Gazette's report, Göğebakan showed victims documents bearing US Congress logos and photographs taken with Turkish politicians in order to build trust.

Victims claimed that an attorney named 'Martin' was said to be handling the proceedings, and that despite paying $3,000 per person, no E-2 visa applications were ever submitted. The total number of victims remains unclear. Göğebakan is alleged to have been detained in the United States. Victims are planning to file complaints in Turkey as well in case of possible return to the country.
