Alaçatı Book Days Met Readers for the First Time

Alaçatı, Izmir's holiday town with a deep-rooted history in culture and arts, entered the literary world's spotlight this year with Alaçatı Book Days, organized for the first time. The event, which opened its doors between May 8-10, brought together book enthusiasts, authors, and publishers under one roof.

During the three-day event, participants had the opportunity to discover new works from various genres. The program, enriched by author talks and literary discussions, captured the attention of both local residents and readers from various districts of Izmir.

The fundamental goal of the event emerged as spreading book-reading culture to broader segments of society and making literature an integral part of everyday life. Despite being organized for the first time, Alaçatı Book Days, which attracted significant interest, is being evaluated as the beginning of a literary tradition expected to continue in the years to come.
