Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that Antalya Airport will begin operating with an advanced air traffic control system called 'Advanced ATC Tower' as of May 18.
Uraloğlu made the following assessment regarding the benefits the new system will provide: "During the busy summer season, we will manage air traffic flow at Antalya Airport in a more effective, efficient and coordinated manner."
Antalya, one of Turkey's airports hosting the highest aircraft traffic, serves as the entry point for millions of tourists each year. Flight traffic that intensifies particularly during summer months is increasing the need for advanced technology solutions in air traffic management.
The Advanced ATC Tower system aims to enhance flight safety and runway utilization efficiency by providing air traffic controllers with more comprehensive and real-time data flow. With the system's implementation, the operational capacity of Antalya Airport is expected to strengthen significantly.
