The foreign ministers of five Central Asian states and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio signed a joint statement on October 19 in Samarkand following a C5+1 format meeting, according to Uzbekistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The document outlines key areas for future cooperation. The parties highlighted the development of the Trans-Caspian transport corridor as a priority capable of expanding trade and opening access to fast-growing markets. Other priorities include deepening regional economic integration, expanding intra-regional trade, improving transport connectivity, harmonizing customs procedures, and strengthening industrial cooperation.

Meeting participants noted that in 2026, the five Central Asian states will mark the 35th anniversary of independence, while the US will mark the 250th anniversary of the proclamation of independence. The statement expresses the parties' readiness to continue partnership for decades to come.
