Motorcycle units conduct CH-47 helicopter insertion and extraction training during EFES-2026 exercise

The Turkish Ministry of National Defense (MSB) announced that motorcycle units conducted insertion and extraction training with the CH-47 Chinook helicopter as part of the ongoing EFES-2026 exercise. These training operations conducted within the exercise framework aim to test and enhance the capabilities of motorcycle units to operate in a coordinated manner with heavy-lift helicopters. The CH-47 Chinook stands out as one of the critical transport platforms in the Turkish Armed Forces inventory, enabling the transport of motorcycles and personnel together thanks to its high cargo-carrying capacity and spacious cargo compartment. The EFES exercise is a comprehensive series of exercises that Turkey conducts jointly with various countries worldwide, and through which the Turkish Armed Forces test their combat readiness, joint operations capabilities, and adaptation to different terrain and scenarios. These training operations are of significant importance in strengthening the ground forces' capacity to conduct rapid deployment in effective coordination with air assets.
