Kazakhstan's low-cost carrier FlyArystan has joined the International Air Transport Association (IATA). The announcement was made by the airline's press service.

IATA brings together more than 370 airlines from over 120 countries, accounting for approximately 85% of global air traffic. The association develops industry standards in safety, operational efficiency, and sustainable development.

Membership will allow FlyArystan to participate in developing industry-wide priorities alongside other airlines and IATA, including safety standards and operational practices.

Johan Eidhagen, president and chief executive officer of the airline, believes that "joining IATA is a natural next step for FlyArystan," adding that this will occur as the company expands its network and international presence. According to him, membership will open opportunities for knowledge exchange with international colleagues.

Rafael Schwartzman, IATA's regional vice president for Europe, welcomed FlyArystan's accession and highlighted aviation's contribution to Kazakhstan's economy: air transport directly generates $2.1 billion in economic output in the country.
