Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has removed bus platforms at Kadıköy Waterfront as part of the Kadıköy Square Pedestrianization Project. With the reorganization, 26 İETT lines that operated 2,461 daily trips have been withdrawn from the Kadıköy hub.

The final stop for 13 lines has been updated from Kadıköy Waterfront to Uzunçayır stops. To maintain passenger access to the center, a new line designated 'UK' has been introduced, offering free two-way transfers between Uzunçayır and Kadıköy.

As part of the project, 9 İETT lines have been completely removed from service, and lines 18A and 18Ü have been canceled. Line 14CE has been shortened to the Çekmeköy–Dudullu Metro corridor, while line 16S will be replaced by line KM21, which has been extended to Sabiha Gökçen Airport. Five new lines carrying the SM designation have begun operations to serve Sultanbeyli and Sancaktepe.
