35 Irregular Migrants Rescued in Kuşadası

In an operation conducted in the Kuşadası district of Aydın, 35 irregular migrants were rescued. Within the scope of the operation carried out on the Aegean coast, migrants identified by authorities were moved to a safe area and underwent health screening. During the operation, 1 suspected migrant smuggler was apprehended and taken into custody. The suspect's processing at police headquarters is ongoing.

Kuşadası, due to its geographical location, ranks among the routes frequently used in migrant smuggling. Turkish authorities have noticeably increased operations aimed at preventing human smuggling on the Aegean coast in recent times. The Coast Guard and law enforcement continue their coordinated efforts against smuggling networks.

The rescued migrants were handed over to competent units to be directed by relevant authorities toward accommodation and humanitarian assistance services. The operation in question once again demonstrates Turkey's determination in combating human trafficking and smuggling.
