Fuel prices set to rise by 1.56 TL at pump from Monday midnight

Fuel price increases show no sign of stopping: According to industry sources, a 2.08 TL increase in wholesale gasoline prices is expected from Monday midnight, of which 1.56 TL will be reflected at the pump. Combined with yesterday's 1.06 TL increase that hit pumps overnight, the two-day total pump markup reaches 2.62 TL. For a driver commuting daily between Şişli and Kadıköy with an average 50-liter fuel tank, this two-day price wave means an additional monthly fuel cost of approximately 250 TL. Cumhuriyet Gazette reported the news. Fuel prices in Turkey fluctuate based on exchange rates and crude oil prices; the last major price wave occurred last year when the dollar/TL parity exceeded 38 lira. The Energy Market Regulatory Authority's official price list should be used for current rates.
