Rize-Artvin Airport Served 4.2 Million Passengers in 4 Years

Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that Rize-Artvin Airport has served a total of 4.2 million passengers over 4 years since its opening. The airport, which became operational in 2020, added significant strength to the Black Sea Region's transport infrastructure and reinforced the region's connection to the rest of the country.

Rize-Artvin Airport, built on reclaimed land, was among the world's select airports constructed using this technique when it was completed. According to ministry data, the airport directly contributed to an increase in both domestic and foreign visitor numbers to the region.

Minister Uraloğlu's statement demonstrates that the airport is not merely a transport infrastructure project but also a strategic investment that activates the region's tourism and trade potential. As one of Turkey's major infrastructure projects implemented in recent years, the airport is regarded as a concrete indicator of the goal to increase accessibility in the Eastern Black Sea region.
