Water year rainfall reaches 38-year high

Turkey's water-year rainfall has reached its highest level in 38 years, according to data cited by Anadolu Agency. The period marks a significant milestone when comparing recorded figures across the country.

Precipitation in the eastern and southeastern regions broke records spanning the past 66 years, while western regions registered a 50 percent increase above seasonal norms. The elevated rainfall is contributing to the replenishment of water resources, though it also raises the risk of floods and flash flooding.
