Sultan Marshland reopens to visitors following fires

Sultan Sazlığı National Park in Kayseri, registered with the status of 'strictly protected sensitive area,' has completed extensive restoration work following two consecutive fires last year and has reopened to visitors.

Walking trails that sustained severe damage in the fires have been rebuilt and restored to full functionality. With fire damage in the natural area largely remedied, the park is now ready to welcome both domestic and international visitors.

Sultan Sazlığı, counted among Turkey's important wetlands, holds significant ecological value for hosting numerous endemic species, particularly water birds. The 'strictly protected sensitive area' status provides legal protection for the region's biodiversity values.

The restoration work carried out has been welcomed for both restoring the area's natural character and its recreational facilities. Authorities emphasized that the park will continue to be one of the region's most important destinations for ecotourism.
