TFF Appoints English Referee Anthony Taylor as Elite Referee Director
Taylor, who has held a FIFA badge since 2013, has officiated top-tier matches including Champions League and World Cup finals.

The Turkish Football Federation's Central Referee Board (MHK) has appointed former English referee Anthony Taylor as Elite Referee Director. The TFF announced the appointment on its official website.
According to the TFF statement, Taylor has held a FIFA badge since 2013 and throughout his career has officiated Champions League and World Cup matches, including the 2022–23 UEFA Europa League Final, the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup Final, the 2021 UEFA Nations League Final, and the 2020 UEFA Super Cup Final.
Debates over referee quality in Turkey have long been a fixture of the domestic football agenda. The MHK had previously floated the foreign director model but had not acted on it until now; Taylor is the first foreigner to hold this position.
The TFF has not released a detailed schedule regarding the programs through which the new director will develop Turkish referees.
