Heavy Rainfall Floods Homes in Tokat

Heavy rainfall in the Zile district of Tokat caused a creek to overflow, inundating numerous homes and agricultural fields. No loss of life has been reported, though significant damage has been recorded across residential and farming areas.

In the neighboring Niksar district, the Yeşilçam Bridge over the Kelkit Stream was closed to traffic as a precautionary measure after water levels rose sharply. Local residents have been warned to prepare for possible further rainfall. Disaster and Emergency Management (AFAD) teams are on the ground assessing the damage.
