According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT), visitor arrivals to Turkey during the July-September period fell 1.6% year-on-year to 23 million 255 thousand people; however, tourism revenue increased 5% to reach $25 billion 526 million.

Per-night average spending per visitor was $107. Over $17 billion of total revenue came from personal spending, while close to $8 billion derived from package tours. When examining sub-items, the 23.6% increase in healthcare spending stands out.

Diaspora, comprising 13.6% of total visitors—over 3 million people—came to Turkey for family and friend visits; this group's average nightly spending remained at $68.

On the flip side, a sharp increase in Turkish citizens traveling abroad draws attention. In the third quarter, the number of Turkish Republic citizens traveling abroad rose 24.2% year-on-year to 4 million 202 thousand people. Tourism expenditure from these trips increased 22.6%, exceeding $3 billion 40 million. Average per-person spending was recorded at $723.
