High Military Council to convene tomorrow under President Erdoğan's chairmanship; Justice Minister Gürlek attending for first time
Alongside general and admiral promotions, possible command changes across the armed forces will be addressed.

The High Military Council will convene tomorrow at Beştepe under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The meeting will begin following council members' visit to Anıtkabir.
A notable aspect of this year's meeting is that Justice Minister Akın Gürlek, Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi, and Land Forces Commander General Metin Tokel are attending the council for the first time. On the agenda are the files of personnel to be promoted from colonel to general and admiral rank, as well as those to receive promotion to the next rank. Officers to be retired due to vacancy constraints and age limits will also be determined at the meeting.
High Military Council decisions have historically directly shaped the balance between the armed forces commands, which is why they are closely monitored in defense circles. The decisions taken will be shared with the public following the President's approval.
