154 people referred to prosecutor in illegal betting operation

A large-scale operation coordinated by the General Directorate of Security targeted illegal betting and fraud activities. Coordinated raids planned from Adana and spanning 21 provinces resulted in the detention of a total of 161 suspects.
Following the proceedings, 154 of the detained suspects were referred to the prosecutor's office and questioned by prosecutors. The remaining 7 people were released after completing their statements at police headquarters.
During searches conducted as part of the operation, software used in illegal betting activities, various tools prepared for fraud purposes, and counterfeit document materials were seized. Officials indicated that the investigation into this organization spanning a broad geographic area has been deepened.
Illegal betting and online fraud have become priority enforcement areas for security units across Turkey in recent years. Court decisions regarding the detention of suspects are expected to be announced in the coming stages of the investigation.
