Osh Reopens Abduvalieva Street After Major Overhaul Spanning About 1 km

The major overhaul of Abduvalieva Street in Osh has been completed and the project has been put into operation, the city administration announced. The road, stretching approximately one kilometre, has been widened to 12 metres and made two-lane: new asphalt pavement has been laid, sidewalks have been constructed along the roadway, and drainage channels have been installed for water runoff.

Before the repair work began, the street had not been updated for many years. During the rainy season, water would accumulate here, creating serious inconvenience for both drivers and pedestrians. The renovated road is intended to improve transport accessibility to adjacent neighbourhoods and increase comfort for residents of the district.

Work on the site is not yet fully complete: contractors will shortly install a night lighting system and carry out landscaping of the adjacent area. The opening ceremony was presided over by Osh Mayor Zhanarbek Akayev in the presence of local residents.
