The Zhyrgalan Resort ski resort town in Issyk-Kul Region is planned to open on December 1, 2026. The first phase will introduce 47 kilometers of ski runs. This was announced by Askat Cholponbayev, a representative of JSC Ala-Too Resort.

Of the 50 lots put up for auction in three stages, 39 have been sold. All were purchased by domestic investors. After completion of the first construction phase, the remaining 11 lots will be put up for auction.

Major construction of hotels ranging from three to six stories is currently underway. An ethnic village and lightweight structures—Scandinavian-style houses—will be ready by the opening.

The project has been declared a project of national significance. The government has allocated land in Issyk-Kul Region and provided tax incentives.

According to the master plan, the Zhyrgalan zone will feature approximately 120 kilometers of ski runs, and the total length of runs across three zones of Ala-Too Resort will reach approximately 250 kilometers. According to government calculations, the resort will be able to accommodate up to 4 million tourists annually and will create around 7,000 jobs.
