Ukraine has developed and deployed artificial intelligence-controlled turrets designed to shoot down enemy drones, using fiber-optic cables, according to Militarnyi.
The new system is an automated weapon capable of detecting and striking unmanned aerial vehicles with minimal reaction delay. Fiber-optic control channels enhance resistance to interference and electromagnetic radiation.
The development is a response to Russia's widespread use of kamikaze drones and unmanned aircraft to strike Ukrainian infrastructure. The system can be deployed in active combat zones and at critical rear facilities to protect urban areas.
