Roketsan General Manager Murat Ekinci announced that the hypersonic ballistic missile İHA-300 struck a target more than 250 kilometres away in a test launch conducted by the Bayraktar AKINCI unmanned combat aircraft, describing the event as a significant achievement.
Ekinci told Anadolu Agency on the sidelines of Roketsan's missile competition — held as part of Teknofest activities in Aksaray — that the company is preparing to expand its family of hypersonic weapons on the strength of this success, without disclosing a timeline or specific types.
He noted that the missile competition has become one of the most professionally run and best-attended events of its kind worldwide in the field of missile manufacturing, emphasising the company's commitment to pairing its veteran engineers with students to build expertise in the sector.
No date has been set for these weapons to enter operational service, and no details have been disclosed about the new types planned for development.
