The Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan is laying asphalt concrete on a five-kilometer section of the Ara-Köl — Oro-Bashy highway in Kochkor District. The ministry announced this on August 12, 2026.
Work on this section was included in the capital project list for road infrastructure in 2026. The asphalt concrete mixture is being laid by Road Maintenance Facility No. 955 in accordance with the approved work schedule.
The Ara-Köl — Oro-Bashy road connects the namesake villages of Cholpon Aiyl Okrug in Kochkor District of Naryn Region. Kochkor District is located in the mountainous part of the republic, and the condition of local roads directly affects transport accessibility of rural settlements during winter.
Upon completion of the paving work on this section, safer and more comfortable driving conditions will be ensured for vehicles and local residents. The Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan is monitoring the progress of the construction work.
