Kyrgyzstan's Transport Ministry lays asphalt on 5 km of Ara-Köl — Oro-Bashi road in Kochkor District

Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Transport and Communications is laying asphalt concrete on a five-kilometre stretch of the Ara-Köl — Oro-Bashi road in Kochkor District. The ministry announced this on 12 August 2026.

Work on this section was included in the title list of road infrastructure projects for 2026. The asphalt concrete mix is being laid by road maintenance facility No. 955 in accordance with an approved work schedule.

The Ara-Köl — Oro-Bashi road connects the namesake villages of Cholpon ayil district (айылный округ) in Kochkor District, Naryn region. Kochkor District lies in the mountainous part of the republic, and the condition of local roads has a direct bearing on transport accessibility to rural settlements during the winter months.

Once asphalting is complete on this section, safer and more comfortable conditions will be ensured for vehicle traffic and the movement of local residents. The Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan is overseeing progress on the works.
