Constitutional Court pension case: Lawyer Gündoğan reveals possibility of 100% raise

Lawyer Ali Erdem Gündoğan disclosed on a YouTube broadcast that the Constitutional Court consolidated a second application filed on August 6 regarding civil service retirees' demand for discretionary raises with the first case and designated the first case as the pilot file.

According to Gündoğan, if the Constitutional Court finds the application justified, the discretionary raise that has reportedly not been paid since July 2023 will be reflected in salaries. According to the lawyer, the accumulated unpaid amount per person could reach approximately 1 million TL. Assessments also include the possibility that the increase in the lowest civil service retiree pension could exceed 100 percent — this would mean a retiree currently receiving around 12,000 TL monthly would see their salary rise to 24,000 TL.

The figures and payment scope in question depend directly on the content of the Constitutional Court's decision. In a case where the court has not set a deadline, the decision timeline remains uncertain. Emekli-Sen and various professional organizations are closely monitoring the Constitutional Court process.
