Istanbul Chief Prosecutor Freezes Pacific Holding Partners' Assets
Capital markets accounts of three partners, including Fatih Erdoğan, frozen; Gövdere and Kandemir detained.
The Istanbul Chief Prosecutor's Office has imposed asset-freezing measures on Pacific Holding Board Chairman Fatih Erdoğan, Board Vice Chairman Abdülkerim Fırat, and Board Member Mehmet Erdoğan as part of an investigation into suspected stock market manipulation and money laundering. According to a prosecutor's statement relayed by Anadolu Agency, instruments held in the capital markets accounts of the three individuals have been frozen by relevant institutions.
The prosecutor's office stated that all asset-reducing transactions by the individuals in question—including transfers, assignments, sales, mortgages, and large cash withdrawals—are now subject to notification obligations. Any request for an unusual transaction must be preceded by prior authorization from the prosecutor's office. The prosecutor's office also requested that MASAK be notified without delay.
Fatih Erdoğan is the spouse of AKP Ankara Deputy Asuman Erdoğan. Asset-freezing orders had previously been issued against Pacific Holding but were later lifted; the holding is known for TOKİ and Emlak Konut tender wins.
Of the four suspects referred to Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan, Hakan Gövdere and Rıza Kandemir were detained; Elif Özüş and Elif Değerli were released under judicial supervision conditions.
